Location
Hotel Prince Park is located on MDR 544 in Velankanni, Tamil Nadu. At 1.2 km from the basilica, it sits outside the immediate shrine precinct but remains reachable by auto-rickshaw in under five minutes. The main road location means auto-rickshaws are generally available nearby for the ride to the basilica forecourt, the Miraculous Tank, and the Annex Church.
The surrounding area is part of the broader Velankanni townscape, with small eateries and provision shops typical of the pilgrim belt.
Rooms and Amenities
The property advertises both non-AC and AC room categories through the OYO Rooms platform. However, based on the single detailed guest review available, there is a documented gap between what is listed on OYO and what the hotel provides on arrival - this is the most important thing to know before booking.
No specific amenities have been confirmed through guest reports or official listings. Facilities such as Wi-Fi, room service, parking, or dining have not been independently verified for this property.
What Guests Say
With only 2 reviews on Google Maps and a 1★ overall rating , the feedback for OYO 48318 Hotel Prince Park is poor. The single detailed review raises a serious concern about booking reliability.
Guest Rajith Zachariah (reviewed 6 years ago, 1★) describes the following experience:
“Don’t ever book such cheating hotel. They are listed in OYO and have two options - Spot On non-AC room and Spot On Deluxe AC room. I booked the deluxe AC room. When I reached the hotel they told me there is no such room and they have non-AC for that rate. For getting an AC room I need to cancel the OYO booking and need to give a higher rate. Don’t book such hotels in Velankanni. Please remove it from all booking websites.”
This review points to a specific problem: the hotel allegedly uses OYO listings to attract bookings at one rate, then requests a higher direct payment for the advertised room category on arrival. Whether this practice has continued or been corrected is unknown - but it warrants caution, particularly for pilgrims arriving after a long journey with elderly family members.
As of the available data, no positive reviews exist for this property to balance against this account.
